SETTING UP AN iPHONE FOR EMAIL - Web Revolution hosted email

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, tap Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, email address, password, and a description for your account.
  4. Tap Next. Mail will try to find the email settings and finish your account setup.
  5. Now we need to add our server settings
  6. Ensure the top option is IMAP and NOT POP
    1. Under the Incoming Mail Server, enter
      1. Host Name: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
      2. Username: Your Email Address
      3. Password: Mailbox password
    2. Under the Outgoing Mail Server enter
      1. Host Name: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
      2. Username: Your Email Address
      3. Password: Mailbox password
  7. Once all this information is entered, press Next on the top right and wait for few seconds for settings to get verified.
  8. Ensure Mail is turned on – Notes is not supported.
  9. Hit Save on the top right
  10. On the Accounts screen, choose the account you have setup
  11. Tap on the account
  12. Scroll to Outgoing Mail Server and tap SMTP
  13. Select the Primary Server to mx1.sitehost.co.nz and tap them for more settings
  14. Enable use SSL
  15. Authentication needs to be Password
  16. Change the Port to 465
  17. Tap Done and wait for it to verify – this can take sometime.
  18. Tap Account to go Back
  19. Tap Done
  20. Tap Accounts
  21. Close settings and check your email account is working etc – send a test email etc.

Other notes and settings:

  • Account type: IMAP
  • Account username: Your full email address (e.g. [email protected])
  • Account password: Your password chosen password
  • Authentication method: Normal password (Plain)
  • Incoming mail server address: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
  • Incoming mail server port: 993
  • Incoming mail server security: SSL/TLS
